Call for Papers
Xi’an Jiaotong University is pleased to announce that the “3rd International Conference on English for Specific Purposes in Asia” will be held from October 21 to 23, 2011 in Xi’an following the 1st and 2nd ESP in Asia conferences held at Chongqing University in 2009 and University of Nottingham Ningbo, China in 2010.
The conference aims to promote interaction and discussion among researchers and teachers interested in ESP teaching and research, which have become more and more important in China as globalization makes academic and professional communication in English essential for many people. The Theme of the conference is “ESP Teaching and Research in the age of Globalization”. Contributions are invited from scholars in the following areas of study:
1) ESP theories: Development and applications
2) Corpus and ESP research and teaching
3) ESP Course design and pedagogy
4) ESP Testing and assessment
5) Research in multimodal communication in English for Specific Purposes
6) ESP and professional development

Abstracts should be within 300 ? 500 words, including references. Abstracts can be submitted from March 15 to May 31, 2011. Notification of acceptance will be given from June 15 to 30, 2011.
